Met & Brunch

Candice and I went to the Met to see the Alexander McQueen exhibit. I had the pleasure of attending the Young Patrons Event last month where the crowd was tiny and I was enamored with the designs. If you choose to go, be sure you go as early as possible. By the time we left, the line was flowing into several other rooms and people were waiting for an hour or more. My favorite piece is one that has prosthetic legs. The model wore prosthetics and McQueen had legs created out of elm for her to wear during the walk down the runway.

My favorite is on the left--if you look closely you can see the intricately carved legs.

After the exhibit we headed to the yummy Cafe Orlin for a lovely brunch sitting outside on a perfect summer day. I finished the day meeting a friend uptown then ran into a group of friends who were eating outside at a restaurant. NYC is really looking out for me these days and his friend Serendipity is really upping her game too :).

Party Crashers

Oh. An ABT after party? Yes please. The rooftop was lovely and we were the most fun in the bunch. Though, the NYCB party kicked the ABT party straight in the derierre.

rooftop opulence

Maybe it's because NYCB had personalized m&m's...yes, perhaps.

S'more cookies

This is one of my favorite scenes from The Sandlot--I can hear my cackling family in my head; we love watching it together.

I've been baking every day and Monday was "Smore cookie" day.

BT Graduation

I love the graduation day at Ballet Tech. All the kiddos get as fancy as can be and it's a hoot to see what they'll wear. They were so excited and I was so proud of all of them. Now it's time for Summer school!

In Full Bloom

At my parents house each of us has a rosebush that we planted last year as a gift to my mom. My mom was so excited to show me how mine was in full bloom and flourishing. I think it's indicative of how my life is right now...blossoming, growing, thriving in my own little ways.

Nevada City

I was so happy to finally visit Jessica in her new home. She moved out to Nevada City and I haven't been able to make the drive out to see her on my recent visits to Sactown. I got to see her cute little house, learn about her amazing dolls, and walk the quaint town on a beautiful Summer day.

Apple Hill

I can remember when I was younger, we'd go to Apple Hill in the Fall & Winter. There are great little farms surrounding the area where you can pick pumpkins or cut down your own Christmas Tree. During the summer, the wineries open and my family and I took a little day trip up there.

Hudson's First Swim

My nephew Hudson had his first experience swimming this week! I was so happy to be a part of it.

Dad's Garden

I'm so proud of my family and their healthy eating adventures. Ever since I found out I have a bazillion food allergies, they have become very conscientious about their food. They love watching food documentaries (Food Inc., King Corn, Super Size Me) and have this season planted their own organic garden from seed, belong to a CSA and bought a share of a grass fed cow in the area! Hannah Banana! How fantastic!
