Amelie Anomaly

Spent the evening at The Mondrian Soho and good 'ol Immigrant.
Best compliment this Summer: I'm an Amelie Anomaly.
Not only is it one of my favorite movies
The synopsis says:

Amelie, an innocent and naive girl in Paris, with her own sense of justice, decides to help those around her and along the way, discovers love.

Do a little name and city switcharoo and I think it's pretty darn accurate these days.
I'm creating my own happiness in my favorite city.
Trying to cultivate great relationships and make people's days a bit brighter all around.
oh. new york. i love you.

Grateful Grazies--Agriged

Deborah Lohse is one of my favorite people in the universe. We danced together many moons ago when we were kids at our local studio in CA. We were 'award winning' choreographers at the time, although Deb is the only one that has maintained that title.  She is vivacious, warm and welcoming. For me, she's this beautiful bottle of champagne that pops every time I see her and her excitement bursts out and fills up a room. We reconnected in New York when she saw my feet in a ballet class--my feet! I remember turning around to do the second side of barre and there she was sitting criss cross apple sauce on the floor. Ever since then we have seen our friendship blossom and have been there to support each other through the rough patches, as well as celebrate the little successes in each day and the life changing moments in our lives. She gave me the opportunity to perform again and my soul was recharged just when I needed it most. She is an amazing performer that captivates everyone that has the pleasure to watch her. She is unafraid in her new adventure in film. She is such a source of comfort, care and support in my life and I love her. She knows just when to call me out and tell me I'm full of shit. She knows how to greet me with a hug that takes in my entire being. She can sit on a rock and say nothing at all and I can feel her care and love. She makes me laugh hysterically, holds me when I cry and can rock a fan at a dance party like no one else. Man, I think my boyfriend has some stiff competition. No need to worry though, he sent his love via Deb this week...

Happy Tuesdays

So...I've been doing this little thing since High School.

I always thought Tuesday was a neglected day. Everyone hates Mondays. Wednesday they are happy about because it's the middle of the week. Thursday, well Thursday, heck it's almost Friday. And Friday, well we all know how much we love Fridays. The weekends are just bliss. However, poor Tuesday is off on it's own. No recognition. No adoration. So, I decided it was the chosen day. A day to celebrate and enjoy. I began baking every Tuesday and choosing a theme and then handing out quotes based on the theme of the week. I would get these little heart stickers and say, "I'm trading hearts for hugs, would you like one?". I'm sure people thought I was bonkers. I always have done some version of Happy Tuesdays here in NYC, but now that I live on my magical block, I'm baking more than ever and deliver my goodies on the block and to The Immigrant. I think there's still people that think I'm nutty, but quite frankly dear, I don't give a damn.

This week, I was inspired to create a new part of Happy Tuesdays. I realized that here in NYC, since we are always walking, we are always looking at the ground. I thought it would be fun to make my walk more interesting. So I decided to do my own little HT 'tagging' on the streets.

I was so blissed out the whole time. People would stop to watch me. They would ask questions. I got more than one high five and a "You're awesome!". I had a great time and hopefully made some people re-think their Tuesday. Keep your eyes peeled! Maybe it's coming to your neighborhood soon!

whew!

...and he's always so reassuring!

Sex you (I'm gonna)

Went to a fun show that Candice had told me about. It was at the Ace Hotel (I love their stairs! See below) and the performer is heading to the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh soon. I was feeling tired for the first time in months but glad that I rallied and went to see it. The promise was left unfulfilled, but it was enjoyable despite that fact :).

Thanks hon

My boyfriend just keeps getting sweeter...gosh, I love hm.
